Made this fun little cake for my now 3 year old son. He loves the Nick Jr. show Bubble Guppies. I asked him a month ago what kind of cake he wanted for his Birthday and he knew right away what he wanted, and it was Bubble Guppie cake every day since. The cake was a yummy chocolate with semi sweet chips in inside. Decorations are all edible, even the characters. And of course I had to add some shimmer dust, because the ocean sparkles, right?!

Made this fun cake and cupcakes for a little girl turning 2! The cake was chocolate and strawberry with vanilla and hot pink strawberry frosting. Each cupcake also had a small mini mouse ears with a bow. My friend made the cupcake stand and it all came together perfectly! This one was a lot of fun too!

Made this fun puppy cake for my 6 year old. Made a few puppies out of fondant and the cake was covered in white and blue fondant. The top layer has a dog house and some bones and the bottom layer has frosting paw prints. The flavor of the cake was a yummy peanut butter chocolate marble swirl.

An Island Getaway Cake

This cake was so fun to make and so fun to see our ideas all come together in the end. The cake is chocolate and covered in a light blue fondant. The island is also cake covered in chocolate frosting and graham crackers. The palm tree is made out of gum paste and the fish, shark, crab and other fun things are made out of colored fondant.

I just love the colors of fall, oranges and browns. This cake has perfect fall colors, with a pop of dark teal. This is a chocolate cake covered in chocolate buttercream and chocolate fondant! Polka dots were made with colored fondant and the flowers were made with gum paste!

My Poor Neglected Cake Blog. I have done a few cakes here and there over the past few months and thought I better give the ol' blog an update. Honestly I was hesitant to put some of my cakes on here because I didn't have amazing photos of them and I did feel a few of my cakes weren't perfect. But I need to remind myself that this is a learning creative process for me. I am still having fun with it all and I think that's the most important thing.

I had so much fun with this because I looove doing anything girly, I used pink and purple fondant for the perfect princess theme!Happy Birthday to a New York Yankee's fan. Thanks to a customer who saw my blog, I gave this idea a try and created this cake for the baseball lover. The logo is made from sugar paste, stripes are piped butter cream frosting all on top of white fondant.My little boy McKay turned 5 last month and we came up with this idea for his cake. He loves cars so we had to incorporate that somehow of course. I baked two separate cake shapes and cut the cake until I formed the number 5. Covered it all in colored fondant. Happy 5 McKay!The Relief Society of the LDS church celebrated it's birthday in March. I was asked to create something "royal" for the ward's Relief Society Birthday party. I thought that cream, purple and gold would be nice "royal" colors. Added a sugar crown on top for more "royalness"!

We made this cake two weeks ago for My mom and sister's birthday's. My mom loves Halloween so of course we had to do a Halloween cake. Unfortunately I didn't get the best picture of the cake. We cut both layers of cake on a slant to be a little more funky fun Halloween, again hard to get a good idea of that in the photo. Used orange, purple and green fondant. The actual cake is a pumpkin chocolate chip. It was fun and now I know that I can make black fondant :) Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday Bean and Mom!!

Liz's Cake

This is the perfect cake for a girl, pink and turquoise with flowers. I even put some food color in the cake mix so one of the layers of cake is actually turquoise. Each section has three layers of cake, vanilla, turquoise vanilla and strawberry. We covered the cake in white and turquoise fondant. The flowers and dots are also made with fondant. Then we painted on some edible sparkle dust, it's hard to see in the picture but the cake was nice and sparkled.

Purple and Black Wedding Cake

I must admit, when I first knew that this bride wanted black on her cake I was a little worried. Black is a hard color to work with, but I feel like this cake really turned out nicely. We covered each layer in white fondant, the actual cake is vanilla with a vanilla butter cream frosting. The flowers are made from gum paste and have a little bit of edible sparkle dust.

My sister Stephanie had her baby shower tonight and we wanted to make her a cute cake for baby girl that will be arriving very soon. I enjoyed this one because it is so girly, all of the flowers and the bird are made out of gum paste. The cake was a strawberry and white cake, covered in vanilla butter cream and pink fondant.
